The latest software release of NetControl 2.0 adds support for new Sanyo network projector models. All four models support the universal PJLink protocol.

Sanyo PLC-XM100
Sanyo PLC-XM150
Sanyo PLC-XM100L
Sanyo PLC-XM150L

The PJLink protocol enables the direct connection and control of the network projector over a LAN without any additional control hardware. Many Bitlogix NetControl customers switch to PJLink protocol enabled projectors to avoid excessive cost of third party control system hardware. The new NetControl 2.0 projector control and management software is today the most cost effective solution for projector control over the data network.

We received the information from our QA-Team that Bitlogix NetControl 2.0 projector control software is also approved for Windows Server 2008 R2. NetControl 2.0 can run under Windows Server 2008 R2 with limited user rights and does not require elevated administrator permissions. This is especially important for Remote Desktop Connections in a multi-user usage scenario. NetControl 2.0 is able to control and monitor projectors and flat panel displays over a network connection for each active user independently.

Here is the complete list of supported operating systems (32-bit and 64-bit):

Windows 7
Windows Server 2008
Windows Server 2008 R2
Windows Server 2003
Windows Vista
Windows XP

A trial version of NetControl  is available here: NetControl 2.0 trial software

The Bitlogix QA-Team approved the NetControl 2.0 Release Candidate 1. All download information are available online and NetControl 2.0 RC1 (version 2.0.0.140) is now ready for public download. NetControl 2.0 provides a complete classroom and room control system for projector and display control with status report functionality (email alert for lamp and filter replacement, filter cleaning, etc.), offline notification with email notification and event management for projector on/off, input switching actions. NetControl provides the power and infrastructure to control and monitor the latest PJLink network projectors,  older RS2332 control port enabled projectors, or network port enabled flat panel displays over the LAN or WAN.

NetControl 2.0 RC1 is approved for the following 32-bit and 64-bit operation systems:

Windows 7
Windows Server 2008
Windows Server 2003
Windows Vista
Windows XP

For customers with other operating systems such as Apple MAC OS X, Linux, Oracle Solaris, OpenSolaris, FreeBSD we recommend VirtualBox to run NetControl 2.0. NetControl 2.0 can be installed for users with limited user rights and permissions in complex network environments.

A software trial version for NetControl 2.0 is available here.

The 3M SCP716, SCP716W and SCP712 Whiteboard Projectors (Super Close Projection System) are now supported by Bitlogix NetControl 2 projector control software. Some of our education customers are already using NetControl for the new 3M  whiteboard projectors. The NetControl integration was designed for large installation for up to 3000 projectors.

Bitlogix NetControl 2.0 controls projectors and flat panel displays over a network connection. In many cases extra and expensive hardware is not required. Most newer projectors and flat panel displays already have built-in network ports.

Please download the latest NetControl 2 software and give it a try. Here is the link to all NetControl 2.0 supported projectors and flat panel displays:  http://www.bitlogix.com/products/software/netcontrol/netcontrol_supported_devices.php

NetControl 2.0 supports now the LG flat panel displays M3203C and M3703C. Many customers asked us to include support for the LG M3203C and M3703C flat panel displays to our upcoming NetControl 2.0 release. The displays are equipped with network ports and do not require any extra control hardware to monitor and manage them over the LAN or even WAN.

In the next weeks we will add many more projectors and panels. Please check with you Bitlogix sales or support representative if you need to control devices not listed. We probably can help and include those models to a regular software update.

NetControl 2 is available as a preview release download. Final version will be available in next couple of weeks. Probably around the InfoComm 2010 show.

We published a NetControl 2.0 beta download link on our website.

NetControl 2.0 is almost ready for final release and we work hard to publish FCS very soon. We added many cool new features to NetControl 2.0. As always, we also added a great number of new projector models and manufacturers to our supported device list. Some highlights are LG, 3M and ViewSonic.

Feedback is always welcome.

We just completed the ViewSonic code modules for our upcoming NetControl 2.0 projector control software. This means that NetControl supports the latest ViewSonic DLP network projectors. Here is the list of all new ViewSonic DLP network projectors:

ViewSonic PJD6220
ViewSonic PJD6221
ViewSonic PJD6230
ViewSonic PJD6240
ViewSonic PJD6241
ViewSonic PJD6251
ViewSonic PJD6381
ViewSonic PJD6531w

All ViewSonic projectors have a RJ45 port and can be connected directly to the network. NetControl 2.0 directly communicates with the projectors over the network. No extra control hardware is needed or required (sure, that’s why we developed NetControl software). We actually tested NetControl 2.0 in a test environment with around 600 virtual ViewSonic projectors. Everything works in “real-time” and so far we are more than satisfied. Support and Marketing will add a download link within the next days. Enjoy!
